As 2010 comes to an end we are presenting you with the final T3 for the year and we have a very interesting Guest Speaker.

When he joined this Bursa Malaysia listed company as CEO he had a major challenge of turning around a company with a share price worth less than 10% of its IPO price in 2000. However, since becoming the CEO of TdC in Oct 2008, he has turned around the company and set it on a new direction of growth. Significantly, the company has had sixth straight quarters of profits against the backdrop of his 2-year-old turnaround plan.

Having done well so far, our Guest Speaker, Afzal Abdul Rahim, the young and charismatic CEO of Time dotCom Bhd (TdC) has many words of wisdom to share.

Afzal started his career as Chassis Development Engineer of Proton Berhad in 1997, and then move on to be a Business Development Manager/Proton Client Manager of Group Lotus PLC until year 2000. He then became CEO of Applied Information Management Services (AIMS), which in November 2010 was among the three companies to be acquired by TdC for RM339 million.

A Technopreneur at heart, this similar mindset applies to his leadership strategy, whether he runs a huge government-linked company or a small technology enterprise. A few of his tips include focus, working in teams, and having a clear product offering.
